Firefighter Joe Duval, was born in Hartford, CT, and has lived
in Tolland most of his life and currently works as a firefighter for Tolland. This web page is to honor him and his service.
Joe started his military career in 1988 thru 1995 and then reenlisted in 2003. While Severing as an Army Specialist in the
Connecticut Army National Guard Bravo Company 1/102nd Infantry in Manchester Ct. In October of 2005 Joe received his
orders for deployment to Afghanistan, on January 01,2006 Joe started his deployment for Afghanistan starting at Fort Bragg
in North Carolina for twelve weeks of training. Once all training was completed Joe left for overseas to defend our country
in Afghanistan in April 2006. After a
long hard year later Joe safely returned from his tour of duty in April 2007. Joe has always been dedicated to the
safety of the Town of Tolland. He was a member of the Tolland
Explorer Post as a young teenager for a few years before becoming a member of the Tolland Fire Department in 1986. He has
been a Public Safety Officer for the Town of Tolland since
1993. He has not only responded to Fire and EMS calls over the past twenty years, but also taught B.A.T. (Basic Aid Training)
at Parker Memorial
School. His love of firefighting has been apparent over the years. Never
has his love for the brotherhood been so strong than on September 11, 2001. On that tragic day in America's
history, he lost many of his fellow firefighter brothers in the tragedies at the World
Trade Center. In May 2003, Joe
joined the Army to defend our country. He is and always will be a Firefighter, but also an American Soldier who will serve
our town and country proud.
