Drysuit Training

 

 

Tolland recently purchased some drysuits for underwater diving. The dry suits will keep the divers warm in cold water and safe from any chemicals that might be in the water also. Local 3954 members recently went through a dry suit certification class on the operation and handling of these drysuits

Swift water Rescue training

Zoar Massachusetts

 

FF Pasek, Wellings, Morrison, and Duval attended a two day

swift water rescue training class given by Zoar Outdoor Adventure

in Zoar Mass. The two days are spent learning skills needed to perform

 rescues in fast moving water. This was a class offerd to members of the Tolland County Dive Team.

FF Wellings and Pasek took part in the annual Capstun training,

 which requires new people certifying to be sprayed so they

can feel how it affects someone first hand.

Dive Training
Survival Systems

FF Duval and Wellings took part in a Dive training class with the Tolland County Dive Team at Survival Systems in Groton CT. Were they can simulate aircraft in the water. The simulator that they trained on has multiple different aircraft doors, windows, Seats and seatbelts. The first evolution was to practice opening the different doors, windows, and seatbelt releases. The second Evolution was in the dark and had multiple victims in side the fuselage to rescue,

Dive Training

FF Morrison, Duval, Szemreylo, Wellings, and Pasek keep up on their diving skills. Now part of the Tolland County Dive Team. Dive Team made arrangements to use the pool at Mansfield community center.

Dive team members were also present  to evaluate skills

and equipment.
