Welcome to Local 3954's web page. Local 3954 is a small group of career
fire fighters consisting of six members that protect the Town of Tolland Connecticut. The
Town of Tolland, first settled before 1715, covers an area of forty-one square miles and is situated twenty miles northeast
of Hartford.
We work in a combination department. We have career (paid) Fire Fighters working
Monday through Friday covering the hours of 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and a group of dedicated volunteers covering evenings,
weekends and certain holidays.

BASIC AID TRAINING
PARKER MEMORIAL SCHOOL
The Tolland Fire Department, along with the Tolland PTO and Board of Education, sponsor the Basic Aid
Training program for 4th Grade students at Parker Memorial School.
Here Fire Fighters Dennis Carlson and Joseph Duval along with Mrs. Logsdon, Health Teacher at Parker, stand
along side two of the B.A.T. students who have recently used their skills in an emergency. The students are Austin (L)
who made a quick 911 call after spotting a neighbors house on fire and Shannen (R) who used the Heimlich Manuever on her brother
who was choking on a piece of candy.

and a 5 acre brush fire on Mile Hill Road.

Jason Szemreylo and Jason Wellings responded, with Rescue 640, to Willington at I-84 WB Ex
71 for a tractor trailer roll over.
Beside responding to emergency calls and training, station upkeep is also part of a fire fighter's
daily routine.
